Español 2: You should be studying your food vocabulary from page 51!  Test for period 3 is Nov 22 and for period 4 is Nov 21.  Use your online resources to practice.

Español 3: You mini project for Como Somos: describe a famous person per the rubric is due Monday the 11th.  Your test on chapter vocabulary, ser-estar-tener, and pret vs imperfect is the 21st for period 8 and 22 for periods 1 and 6.

Español 5: Diarios and translations of Öfrenda"were due the 12th.  Command test on the 22nd.  Vamonos project directions have been distributed and the project is due the 2nd week in January.

Español 2:  Study the 5 irregular preterite verbs in your notes.  Study the vocabulary on page 49.  Use Quia and conjuguemos.com to practice.  TEST on Thursday the 14th!  You have sample tests/worksheets we have done.

Español 3:  Lots of new vocabulary to be studying from page 51.  Use Quia and conjuguemos.com to practice.  Your mini project is due on Friday the 15th (period 8) and Monday the 18th (periods 1 and 6).  Period 8 may turn in the project on Monday with no penalty.  You should be studying ser-estar-tener, and we'll be adding notes on the uses of imperfect and introducing the perfect tenses this week.  Test before Thanksgiving break!

Español 5: Diaro and translation of the song due on Tuesday.  Review formal commands.

Español 3:  We have started etapa 1.1!  Study the vocabulary with Quia activities (your hand out) or at conjuguemos.com, vocab lesson 418.

Español 5:  Examen de mandatos el 7!  Muchas tareas de YABLA = due before Thanksgiving break! Diario due on 12 Nov, translate this song and explain how it demonstrates beliefs and customs of Day of the Dead.

Español 2:  Should be studying preterite and car gar zar verbs for the test on Friday!  There will also be Day of the Dead questions on this test. You have 2 worksheets with day of the Dead information.

Español 3:  It's time for the irregular preterite test!  Review your notes for the verbs, the practice worksheet that is set up like the verb section of the test, your notes on Spain, and 2 worksheets that have information on Day of the Dead.

Español 5: Fiesta on Monday!  Test on familiar commands on Thursday.  You must know your irregulars and will have to translate sentences.  You will also watch a short video and write about the Day of the Dead.

Tuesday Day 2 and Wednesday, Day 3

Español 2: Study vocabulary from page 49 (or 51)
We are working on:
*Day of the Dead:  Check your handout for point values of things for the ofrendas; talk to parents about food for food day; review the information in the video handout for testing purposes.
*Regular Preterite Tense: Use the verb packets to practice the past tense endings.  Pd 4 got another homework on Wed; Pd 3 on Thursday (tomorrow).
*Vocabulary of leisure time and airport travel.  Page 35 Act 3 should be written in your notebooks and will be used for testing purposes.

Español 3: Presentations are this week!  Check your rubrics and time yourself speaking; double check the rubric after you make your poster to be sure you have hit all of the components. Fill in the 5 past tense verbs you want me to listen for.

In the text, our focus is pages 12, 16, 18, 20 and 24.  We have yet to be tested on pages 24 and 18.  Use your verb packets to practice the preterite, as well as conjuguemos.com and quia.com from the handout.

Monday, Day 1

Español 2:  Have you studied the vocabulary from page 49/51?  Have you used quia or conjuguemos to practice the vocabulary?  Last week we put the preterite tense into your notes.  You can use page 7 of your verb packets to study AND the websites above that are also listed on a handout in your notebooks for Etapa 1.1

Today we practriced pretierite conjugations and put 4 questions into our notes and answered them.  Then we practiced the vocabulary by quizzing partners and then playing Pesca.

Period 3 went over the tarea from last week; Period 3 got a verb worksheet for tarea.



Español 3: Presentations are happening this week!
Monday and Tuesday, we again went over the rubrics for the presentations and looked at sample posters.  We used the tarea worksheet from last week (stamped today) and created 2-3 paragraphs about personality types. Then we did MORE timed speaking.  If you have not been with us each class, you should be timing how long you can talk about yourself.  Your goal being 90 seconds in both present and past with a variety of vocabulary.

And remember to practice those irregular verbs and your song!  Tuve-hice-puse-vine!

Español 5: Hazlo writing due today!  If absent, it must be turned in PRONTO!
We practiced familiar command forms by reviewing class generated rules for seniors, listening to No llores by Gloria Estefan, translating rules for driving, and also translating a list of commands while in groups.  We wrote notes on su vs ella, amar vs encantar vs amor .  Due next class:  use each of these words twice in meaningful sentences; translate to English and TURN IN next class.

Español 2:  A new week and a new chapter!
Today we review the irregular yo's, checked grades on power school, went over quizzes.  We got picture pages of the new vocabulary on page 49 to label for tarea for tomorrow.  You need to be familiar with this vocabulary, so study it!  You'll be getting a quia handout tomorrow, but you can also use the preliminary quia paper to go to the conjuguemos site and practice.  Papel picado is past due!


Español 3: Pds 6 and 8 graded our translation papers, turned in papel picado, and were reminded that a conjugumeos assignment was due at midnight Monday.  We watched a Day of the Dead video with a worksheet...you are responsible for knowing the information for testing purposes.  You should be studying irregular preterite verbs.

Español 5: Projects were returned, grade sheets passed, and we went over the rubric for our Hazlo presentation. Diarios with your script are due on Monday the 21st and presentations begin the 28th. We did a 15 minute journal writing on codicia, valor, lealtad:  que son y unos ejemplos.  Journals were collected and we got into groups to come up with the best definitions and examples using google docs to type up information.
